But who else is global? I mean most blogs seem to be a) very nation focused like most of the German or US Blogs or b) they are very focused on one topic – like the newest web gadgets or foreign affairs. So I guess what I’m trying to say is, that recently I’m looking for like minded blogs and platforms – so we can together create something more meaningful, sophisticated and inspiring. So plz. leave me any comments for Blogs I should go to and people I should talk to.

PolitiFact is a project of the St. Petersburg Times to help you find the truth in American politics. Reporters and editors from the Times fact-check statements by members of Congress, the White House, lobbyists and interest groups and rate them on our Truth-O-Meter. We’re also tracking more than 500 of Barack Obama’s campaign promises and are rating their progress on our new Obameter. >> More

Make sure you check out that site, I think it is a terrific approach to keep track of American politicians – and more over how – truthful they are.

I think the idea of carrotmobs is interesting. It helps to strengthen the local community and with that brings people together for the common sense. If I understand the idea of carrotmobs correctly, carrotmobs give money to small companies, so that they could invest in green technology and thus saving energy.

But since I have watched Bjoern Lomborgs talk about “Our priorities for saving the world” – one question always pops out if I hear about a new organization which wants to make a difference:

So many people in the world need help – so many people as we all know die every day from diseases which we already can heal or die of malnutrition. So keeping that in mind – I wonder if carrot mobs are actually a good thing – or just another entertainment tool for well intentioned people who don’t want to face the real problems which are not that fun dealing with?!
